Good weekend
Since everything is to everyone's CPA's, except mine (still need one 1099), I decided that this would be the weekend to do my spring cleaning. Wednesday after work, the yard got mowed and weed eated so I would not have to do it this weekend. Friday after work, I slightly organized the storage room. The deck tables and chairs are in there so room is not available. Everything has ended up at the door. There is now some semblence of order to that room.
Waylon had swept, mopped and vacuumed the house, so I started in the living room. I dusted everything, cleaned the wooden blinds, dusted the dining room and kitchen. I did not move every book or movie to dust, that is for another day. There are still kitchen cabinets to unclutter but the kitchen is less cluttered on the cabinets. I do have a blue dresser drying in there though so you have to walk around drawers and knobs.
Every ceiling fan in the house got a good dusting also. I will wait to wash curtains until late March.
Saturday, I got up early and cleaned the laundry/sewing room. I decided that some of the stuff on the wall, while cute, was nothing but dust collecters, so off the wall and to the thrift store. My laundry/sewing room seems so much bigger now. Definitely less lint and dust on everything.
I then ventured on to the bathroom/closet, cleaning and uncluttering every drawer and shelf. I did some re-organzing, got rid of stuff that just collects dust and now I have more room in my closet and less dusting to do. Dressers scarves, old towels etc are now on their way to new homes.
I am almost finished with my bedroom. Still have that nasty old bookcase to clean and unclutter. Waylon painted Devon's dresser that I bought and we let it dry overnight. Once the knobs go back on, Devon's clothes can leave the bookcase. I can put Devon's VHS tapes in the place vacated by his clothes.
I took breaks, helped Waylon get the stuff together to paint Devon's dresser (in the kitchen), watched a TV show and a friend came over bearing a carrot cake. So, there is more to do. While my goal was to have it all done, I really got more in-depth than I originally planned so I will try to get it done after church. By Monday, I will be ready to start quilting again.
Once again, it feels good to unclutter. While I appreciate some of the knickknacks given, I hope my friends and family understand, it was time for some of that stuff to go. As I am getting back into women's ministry, I will have less time to dust, besides, God has been working with me for over a year to simplify, simplify, simplify. The less I have, the less burdened I feel. I really do not need all that stuff hanging on the walls, collecting dust. Wish my weight would come off as easily as the dust and not come back as fast :)
Well, my break is over, time to get back to cleanin and uncluttering.

Smile
Garage sale art. Take screen door metal, paint it purple. Take round metal disc, with hole in the middle. Paint it bright yellow. Paint on black eyes and mouth. Add a ball bungee cord for nose. Hang it on the fence to mom's garden.
Spring has sprung
My iris' think spring has arrived.
Mom's enclosed garden is taking shape. She has been considering doing a keyhole garden but would have to haul lots of rock.
Mom and Waylon almost have the pen completed. The cover on the dogpen won't go on until the heat gets too intense. Still need to put a wire cover over the top so the coons, possoms and birds don't get into the garden.

I did it
Perhaps it was the freezing temps that put the cedar to bed that enabled me to take a deep breath this morning!! YEAH!!!!
